Panorama Gohrisch

The panorama from the mesa Gohrisch allows us a 180° looking north. To the west is the Pfaffenstein. On its left side you can see the needle of Barbarine. The Barbarine is one of the landmarks of the Saxon Switzerland and an icon for mountaineers. This needle may no longer be climbed since 1975 and is since 1978 a natural monument. Right from Pfaffenstein you can see in the background the fortress Koenigstein. It is one of Europe's largest mountain fortresses. The military and political importance of this almost impregnable medieval fortress is shown clearly in numerous exhibitions. Today the fortress is often a place of spectacular events. Further to the right you can see the mesa Lilienstein.
