Bad Schandau is a spa town and located in the middle of Elbe Sandstone Mountains and the National Park Saxon Switzerland. In the town center there is the National Park Center. In Bad Schandau has a pier for steamship and from here starts the historical Kirnitzschtal Tramway their ride thru Saxon Switzerland. Bad Schandau is a recognized health resort and has many spa facilities. On the webcam picture there are the historic St. Johanniskirche and the Toskana Therme.

Webcam Schrammsteine

The Schrammsteine are close to the Elbe river between Bad Schandau and Schmilka. From the opposite bank of the Elbe, you have a nice look on the rock walls of Schrammsteine. This part of the rock massif of the popular Elbe sandstone was "broken".

Webcam Affensteine

The Affensteine lie east of the Schrammsteine. There are numerous climbing rocks; but also a lot of very beatiful trails with very varying degrees of difficulty.

The Zirkelstein is the first mesa of Saxon Switzerland, directly behind the border with the Czech Republic. On the Zirkelstein is an vantage point from which you can see a large part of the Saxon Switzerland and Bohemian Switzerland.

Webcam Kaiserkrone

The Kaiserkrone is the adjacent mesa of the Zirkelstein and located in the village Reinhardtsdorf-Schöna. From the lookout point you see from the top of the mesa down to the village Schmilka near the Elbe Valley.

The Bastei rocks are a popular climbing area. From the Bastei-Viewpoint you have a phenomenal view of the Elbe Valley.

Hohnstein numerous hiking tours lead to Bastei, in the Polenz-Valley and in the Brand Area. Hohnstein Castle in the center of town is a popular destination.
