Boofen - a very special experience
The term "boof" was derived over the years colloquially of "pofen" (sleep). A "Boofe" is a outdoor accommodation place (overnight in the open under a rock overhang or cave) for mountaineers and climbers. In the National Park area there are 57 officially approved and appropriately reported "Boofen" (see list below).
